BelleFleur — Document Numbering and Tax Reporting

The Challenge

BelleFleur, an online retailer based in France, contacted us to adapt their existing WordPress store for tax reporting requirements.

The store had already been operating for around five years, so the task involved not only handling current transactions but also working with historical data.

One of the key challenges was maintaining consistent document numbering. Standard WordPress e-commerce workflows allow for cancelled, unpaid and other types of orders, which can make straightforward sequential numbering of accounting documents difficult.

What We Did

We extended the store's administrative panel with a set of tools for data validation and document control.

The system checks:

• the sequence of order numbers;
• the sequence of accounting document numbers;
• the relationship between documents and their corresponding orders;
• missing or potentially problematic numbers requiring review.

During the project, we also identified significant performance issues with the existing store.

We optimized the system and moved the website to a dedicated server, improving its overall performance and stability.

The Result

The client gained an integrated tool for monitoring transaction data and managing reporting-related processes directly within their existing online store.

The solution has been successfully used for the client's reporting workflow for three years.

Most importantly, the client was able to keep their existing store and its five-year history instead of replacing the system or migrating years of historical data to a new platform.
