IgnisPixel — Recovering a Website After Hosting Failure

The Challenge

IgnisPixel is a long-term technical support client.

One day, the client missed a hosting payment deadline, and the hosting provider deleted the server data. The website went completely offline.

For the business, this meant an immediate interruption to sales.

What We Did

We immediately contacted the hosting provider, arranged for a new server and coordinated the restoration of the hosting service.

While the new server was being prepared, we used a backup stored on our development server and urgently restored the website from it.

There was one more problem to solve: the backup had been created overnight, shortly before the failure. Several new orders had been placed between the backup and the server shutdown, so they were not included in the backup.

We reconstructed those orders using the email notifications that had been sent to the client between the time of the backup and the failure.

The Result

The website was fully restored and brought back online.

No orders were lost. Every order was processed and the corresponding products were shipped to customers.

The business was able to resume normal operations without losing sales or critical order data.
